Bruce has been counseling clients on patent matters and defending them in litigation for over twenty years, formerly as a partner at two national law firms (Pennie & Edmonds and Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich) and now as a member of Chao Hadidi Stark & Barker. He draws on this experience when advising clients on various patent matters such as portfolio analysis, IP due diligence, patent re-examination, product clearance studies, willfulness opinions, and licensing.
Bruce specializes in electronics and information technology. Before entering the field of law, he worked for three years as an electrical engineer for Apollo Computer and RCA Corp. In his law practice, he has worked extensively on matters involving networking technologies, electronic image processing, disk storage/RAID technology, touch screens, cryptography, microprocessor based control, signal processing, semiconductors, and software. He has also worked with medical device and biotechnology tools, such as ultrasound imaging, radiation therapy, micro-fluidics, and mass spectrometry.
